Track your hours. Bill with proof.
Set it and forget it — TrackHours logs your billable editing time automatically inside Premiere Pro, project by project, then turns it into a client-ready PDF invoice in one click.
Preview of how TrackHours will look inside Premiere Pro: current project and sequence, a start/stop timer, a Manual/Auto mode switch, a weekly hours chart, and export buttons.
Track it your way.
Fully automatic, fully manual, or both — and every session stays editable afterward.
Automatic
Tracks the moment you're actively working in a project or sequence — and pauses itself when you're idle or Premiere's in the background.
Manual
Prefer full control? Start, pause, resume, and stop your own editing session whenever you want, no automatic logic involved.
Always editable
Forgot to stop the timer overnight? Correct or delete any logged session after the fact — nothing is ever locked in.
Built to survive real editing days.
Premiere crashes. Your time tracking doesn't.
If Premiere or the panel closes unexpectedly mid-session, TrackHours recovers it the next time it opens — nothing gets silently lost.
Built for how editors actually work
Duck into another project for an asset or a sound effect and come back within 3 minutes — your session stays whole, it doesn't fragment.
Only pay for real work
Step away, switch apps, or let your Mac sleep, and TrackHours pauses itself and asks what to do with that gap when you're back — no bloated, inaccurate invoices.
Manual or automatic — your call
Let it track while you edit, or take full control with your own start, pause, resume, and stop session.
Look like a top-tier professional
Export a branded PDF or Excel report in your studio's name — today, this week, this month, or any custom range, in seconds.

Built by an editor, for editors.
"I kept forgetting to start Toggl or Clockify before I dove into an edit. I got tired of guessing my hours and losing money over it — so I built a tool that just tracks it for me, right inside Premiere."
— Founder, PluginKit
What early testers are saying.
"I used to always forget to start my Toggl timer. TrackHours automatically catches exactly which project and sequence I'm working on. The PDF reports look incredibly professional — clients love seeing exactly what they're paying for."

Freelance Video Editor
"The 'Keep/Discard' feature is brilliant. I often step away for a call and leave Premiere open in the background. TrackHours detects that I was away and asks if I want to keep or discard that time gap. Super fair and transparent for billing!"
Sarah M.
Agency Editor
"Premiere crashed on me in the middle of a heavy edit yesterday. I thought I lost my whole day's time log, but when I reopened the software, the plugin restored everything from a checkpoint. Literally saved me a couple hundred bucks."
Mark V.
Content Creator
"Finally, no more jumping between windows to track time. Everything runs right inside the Premiere panel. The 3-minute grace period is perfect too — it stops my session list from getting cluttered when I just open another project to quickly check an asset."
Emily S.
Freelance Editor
"Runs flawlessly. No lag, super lightweight plugin. I actually love that there's no cloud sync or forced logins — all my data stays local on my machine, and exporting to Excel takes exactly one click."
Luke P.
Post-Production Specialist
"As a freelancer, this is an absolute must-have. You set your hourly rate, and at the end of the month, you generate a ready-to-send breakdown with all the totals already calculated. Saves me so much time on admin work."
David B.
Videographer
"I'm terrible at remembering to stop my timer when I close my laptop. The sleep detection on TrackHours is a lifesaver! It immediately knows when my Mac went to sleep and doesn't log those ridiculous 14-hour ghost sessions."
Eve R.
Editor
"The design of the exported reports is top-tier. The PDFs don't look like cheap automated exports — they have a great built-in font, clean tables, and actual branding. My clients even asked what accounting software I use!"
Simon K.
Commercial Editor
"The auto-track mode feels like magic. I also really appreciate being able to manually edit the sessions and add custom notes, especially if I need to explain to a client why a specific sequence took longer to color grade."
Andrew Z.
YouTube Editor
"I've been looking for something exactly like this. The big record button is super intuitive, the daily/weekly stats are clear, and there's no bloated features — just exactly what you need to track time directly inside Premiere Pro. Highly recommend."

Questions, answered.
Does it track automatically, or do I start it myself?
Both. Turn on automatic tracking and it logs time while you actively edit, or switch to manual and start, pause, resume, and stop your own session timer whenever you want.
What happens if I switch to another app?
If Premiere isn't the app you're actually using for more than 5 minutes, TrackHours notices. When you come back, a "Welcome back" prompt lets you keep that time or drop it — you decide what counts.
What counts as idle?
After 5 minutes with no mouse or keyboard activity while Premiere stays focused, a "Still working?" prompt appears, similar to apps like Toggl — again, you choose to keep or discard the idle stretch.
What if my computer goes to sleep mid-session?
On wake, TrackHours asks whether to add that sleep gap back into the session — since the clock wasn't actually running while the machine was asleep, nothing is added unless you choose to.
Can I fix a session I forgot to stop?
Yes. Every logged session can be edited or corrected afterward, so an overnight timer mistake never wrecks your report.
What if I have multiple projects or sequences open?
Time only accrues for the project and sequence you're actively working in. Switch sequences and TrackHours automatically splits the time between them — nothing gets double-counted.
Where is my time data stored?
Locally on your machine only — nothing is synced to the cloud. Export files whenever you want to share or back them up. If your history ever grows large, TrackHours lets you export and archive older sessions in one click.
Can I show my client an hourly rate and total cost?
Optionally, yes. Add a client name and hourly rate (in €, $, or £) when you export, and choose exactly which sessions to include — the PDF or Excel report shows total cost alongside the hours.
Which Premiere Pro versions does it support?
Premiere Pro 23 through the latest release, on macOS and Windows.
Will it slow down Premiere?
No. TrackHours is optimized for speed — its idle and away checks run asynchronously in the background, so it never blocks or taxes Premiere's UI, even while scrubbing the timeline.
Is this a subscription?
Pricing and licensing haven't been announced yet — that's a deliberate "not yet" while the plugin is still pre-launch, not a hidden subscription. Join the waitlist and you'll know the exact model and price, with an early-access discount, before it goes public.
